# Golf Solitaire

> Clear the table one card higher or lower at a time.

Seven columns, one waste pile and a par to beat. Play any card one higher or lower than the waste, chain as far as the table allows, and turn the stock when you run dry. Nine holes make a round, a cleared table is a hole in one, and new courses with their own twists open as you play.

## How to play

1. Play the front card of any column onto the waste when it is one higher or one lower. Suits don't matter. An Ace takes only a 2 and a King only a Queen, unless the course says the corner wraps.
2. Tap or click a column to play its front card, or drag it to the waste. Tap the stock to turn a new card when nothing fits. Undo takes back any card played since the last turn; a turned card stays turned. At Pocket Pines, tap the empty pocket and then a column to keep that card for later, or drag it there.
3. Keys work too: 1 to 7 play a column (1 to 8 at Long Lake), Space turns the stock, the arrows or Tab pick and Enter plays, X pockets the picked card, U undoes and N starts a new round. Esc, then Tab, leaves the game.
4. Your strokes on a hole are the cards left on the table. Clear it and every stock card left counts one under. Nine holes make a round: beat par to go under.

## Tips

- Before you play, look for every chain the waste allows and pick the one that leaves the most cards one step from what's still in the stock.
- A card that fits doesn't have to go now. Holding one back can catch the next stock card and save a turn.
- Check the count under the table: it shows how many of each rank are still in the stock.
- Work the tallest columns down first, so no column ends up a wall of cards nothing can reach.
- Aces and Kings are dead ends on most courses. Play them while a 2 or a Queen is on the waste.

### Is it free?

Yes. It's free in your browser, with no download and no sign-up needed. Coins you earn are for fun and can never be bought.

### How does scoring work?

Your strokes on a hole are the cards left on the table. Clear the table and each card left in the stock counts one under. Lower is better, just like golf.

### What is par?

Par is what a steady, no-frills line of play scores on that exact deal. Beat it by one for a birdie, by two for an eagle.

### Is there a daily game?

Yes. A new nine-hole course every day, the same for everyone, and some days bring a course with a twist.

### Can I undo a move?

Yes: any card you played since the last stock turn. A turned stock card stays turned, so nobody gets a peek.

### Can I play on a phone?

Yes. It's built for touch first: tap a column to play it and tap the stock to turn. A mouse and keys work just as well.

- **Ace collector** (gold, 60 coins): Make 15 holes in one.
- **Low round** (gold, 60 coins): Finish a round 14 under par.
- **House rules** (gold, 60 coins): Beat the house champion's round on 5 daily courses.
- **Steady hand** (gold, 60 coins): Bank 150 strokes under par across finished rounds.
- **Club champion** (diamond, 150 coins): Bank 500 strokes under par across finished rounds. Earns the title "Club Champion".
- **Ace of clubs** (diamond, 150 coins): Make 75 holes in one. Earns the title "Ace of Clubs".
